Nathan Jurevicius is renowned for his whimsical character design, and Vannen Watches is pleased to present his first timepiece, Haven. Textured like a treehouse, the watch is home to a canopy of colorful avian inhabitants. An overseer owl gazes out from the face, keeping time with prismatic eyes. Two birds tweet at each other in an engraving on the back casing. The crown completes the motif with a mystical third eye. Highly stylized and kaleidoscopic, Haven is a modernist fusion of wildlife and wearable art.
Jurevicius draws upon the folklore of his Lithuanian heritage when creating a tableau for his characters. His art is influenced by traveling to far-flung countries, interacting with diverse cultures, a belief in divinity and the revelations of nature. "A lot of artists, including myself, are looking to nature and spiritualism for inspiration," Jurevicius has said. This outlook is reflected in Haven with the presence of nature's wise old prophets: owls.
